Phase 3 of the Young Deadly Syphilis Free campaign was launched in September 2019, with scheduled screening of TV commercials in syphilis outbreak areas across Queensland, the Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia.

TV Ads

Our TVCs focus on youth and encourage people to get tested regularly.

• Listen up: Listen up all you young deadly free mob, being free from STIs is good for all of us
• Risky: We all take risks; make sure you are STI free by getting a check up today
• #Gettested has powerful messages from community members about syphilis and the importance of testing

For phase 1 two TV ads  were produced as a key component of the Syphilis Campaign. The ads were built around the two stories featured in the syphilis campaign, and aimed to raise communities’ awareness of the need to test for syphilis and other STIs.

Animations TV Ads

We’ve made a very short animation TV ads — cartoon like videos — that explain the facts about syphilis in a way that’s easy to understand.

This animation has also translated into Top End Kreole and NPA Torres Strait Creole Language.

Radio Ads

The first ad focuses on getting tested for syphilis, and the second focuses on the potential risks of syphilis during pregnancy and again, promotes syphilis testing, with a young couple reflecting on the loss of their baby due to undiagnosed syphilis.
